Sweet: AEP competitor offers up free Nest thermostat
By now you’ve probably received countless mail solicitations from Direct Energy to switch your electric generation from AEP. The promise is locking in lower rates for term energy contracts. They’ve just sweetened the pot. In a deal with Google (owners of Nest), Direct Energy is offering a Nest Learning Thermostat for customers who sign a 2 or 3 year deal with Direct Energy. It’s valued at $249 and is a pretty impressive smart gadget that aims to lower your energy costs by managing heating and cooling cycles.
