Two years ago a woman was hit with a stray police bullet in the Arena District. The police had been approaching a man who they suspected to be drunk driving, and the man they were walking toward drove at the police officers who drew their weapons to shoot. One of the bullets hit the suspect and the other hit Heather Seavolt who was nearby.
After being taken to the Wexner Medical Center and was unresponsive she then recovered and had a $62,500 bill for her medical expenses. This week the city council is set to vote on whether or not to make a settlement payment of $150,000 to Seavolt.
