As the State of Ohio continues to consider the legality of fantasy sports sites like FanDuel and DraftKings, the process moves ahead in New York. A state Supreme Court justice on Friday granted an injunction to shut down those sites.
Justice Manuel Mendez did not rule on whether or not play on the sites constitutes gambling or skilled competition, but instead made his ruling in belief that New York’s Attorney General will win his case to shut FanDuel and DraftKings down.
In Ohio, an assembled committee is expected to release its determinations on the sites by the end of the year.
