Cavaliers vs Warriors: Game 1 tonight
Its Golden State vs Cleveland and Feinstein vs Portman with the start of the NBA Finals.
The last time, the only previous time that the Cleveland Cavaliers were in the NBA Finals was in 2007. It was not a pretty picture. The San Antonio Spurs swept Cleveland in 4 games.
Now…Cleveland has another chance. Tonight the Cavs visit Oakland for Game 1 of the Finals vs the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors have been here before. They’ve won 7 conference titles (as the Philadelphia Warriors, the San Francisco Warriors and as Golden State). And they’ve claimed three championships. But the last championship was in 1975, so both teams want it bad.
Game 1 tips off at 9PM ET tonight.
And if you think that LeBron James and Stephen Curry are the only ones with something on the line tonight, think again. Tonight also brings us the start of another one of these friendly political wagers. Ohio Senator Rob Portman (R) is putting up a six-pack of Sharpshooter Wheat IPA from Cleveland’s Great Lakes Brewing. That’s against California Senator Diane Feinstein’s (D) stake of Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon wines from the golden state. Recent history shows that Feinstein has some luck in these major sports matters with the San Francisco Giants taking three of the last five World Series. But then again, the Royals didn’t have LeBron James on their side. (jj)
