Famous Footwear: Cardale’s cleats show solidarity with Paris

Like most of us, Buckeye quarterback Cardale Jones was moved by the scene out of Paris Friday night. On Saturday morning (before the Ohio State / Illinois game), he shared this via Twitter:

The post was liked and retweeted thousands of times and the image of Cardale’s cleats with the hand-drawn images of solidarity earned national media attention. He later suggested that he would be interested in auctioning off his shoes to benefit the people of Paris. (As has been pointed out, the auctioning off of player-worn apparel is an NCAA no-no.)

Many have doubted Cardale when the Buckeyes have gotten inside the red zone this season. But no one can doubt his heart.  (jj)
