Leo DiCaprio’s new role: Billy Milligan, central Ohio man with Multiple Personality Disorder
Columbus can’t keep Hollywood away. Although this time, it’s not as fun as “John Travolta filming a movie here.” According to The Hollywood Reporter, Leonardo DiCaprio is expected to play Billy Milligan in the upcoming movie, “The Crowded Room” (adapted from the book, “The Minds of Billy Milligan”).
Milligan, a central Ohio man, was diagnosed with Multiple Personality Disorder; a diagnosis that led to him being found not guilty by reason of insanity for raping three women in 1977 near OSU. Milligan’s doctors said he had up to 24 different personalities, and while the court did agree that he committed the rapes, they believed that his mental state meant he wasn’t responsible for them.
Maybe taking on such a serious, and rather dark, role means Leo thinks he might get that Oscar. (deb)
