Bidding adieu to a pair of Columbus’ favorite clubs
A pair of Columbus institutions will call it a day after they shut their doors Thursday night.
Wall Street Night Club (144 North Wall Street) has been a favorite hangout for the LGBT community for 28 years. The club announced recently that financial concerns were playing a role in the decision to close.
The New Year’s Eve close is being billed as Wall Street’s Final Bow and will feature a performance by the house drag king troupe The Royal Renegades.
Also closing Thursday night will be Bernie’s Bagels and Distillery (1896 North High Street). The campus favorite has been around for 40 years…but will say its farewell on New Year’s Eve with a LIVE show featuring the White-Outs, the FGDs, Deprecator, the Stales, Hot Wet Trash and an acoustic set by Kerri Destruction. Redevelopment in the neighborhood by Campus Partners is leading to Bernie’s exit from the stage.
