Blaze Johnson gets the Knockout

[youtube id=”E57nTAU_HAI”]

Columbus’ Blaze Johnson is heading home after losing his knockout round match on last night’s episode. The singer battled fellow contestant Deanna Johnson with a rendition of The Fray’s “You Found Me.” Ultimately Levine (Blaze’s coach) declared Deanna the winner of the battle, but  he said to Blaze, “your low register is pretty unbeatable,” and judge Blake Shelton praised his “”solid, great performance.” (deb)

Blaze Johnson battles his way into next round of ‘The Voice’

Columbus’ Blaze Johnson is continuing his amazing run on NBC’s The Voice. This week, Blaze championed his way into the next round after defeating fellow contestant Michael Leier in Battle with the song “Rude.”  And even though Blaze (and the other contestants) don’t get much time to learn and rehearse, he said working with coach Adam Levine and pop star Ellie Goulding was an honor.

The Voice airs on NBC Mondays and Tuesdays at 8:00PM (deb)

New season of The Voice means new Cbus talent

Columbus was singing from the rooftops as Capital University student Chris Jamison took third in last season of NBC‘s “The Voice.” And with this week’s premiere, we might have reason to once again belt the power of Columbus musical talent. Blaze Johnson, a self-taught musician, debuted on Tuesday’s episode with a brilliant rendition of “How To Save a Life” during his blind audition.

Blaze also said he’s known he would be on The Voice and work with Adam Levine. Although, when Levine was the first to turn his chair around, he said: “To be honest with you, I blacked out. Pretty much words were just coming out of my mouth. I don’t remember what I was singing.”
