End of the World in the Brewery District, WOB closes
Call it a case of first ‘world’ problems.
The World of Beer location in the Brewery District (503 South Front Street) has closed.
Having opened its doors four years ago in the former home of radio station CD101 (now CD1025), the Brewery District bar was the first World of Beer in Central Ohio. Since then, the local owners have opened two other spots…one at Easton and the new location in the South Campus Gateway. The Easton bar recently added a kitchen and the Gateway spot opened with one from the start. So, the ability to serve food has become a part of the business model for management and its become something that customers expect. With the historic nature of the 503 South Front building, adding a kitchen was not something that could be done. So the decision has been made to close.
After 4 years and thousands of craft beers the WOB Brewery District location has closed for business. Like in our Easton and new High Street locations, adding a kitchen is critical to the long term success of WOB and this location was not able to be retrofitted. We want to thank our wonderful team, brewery partners, distributors, bands, and customers for your partnership, business, and so many great memories. We hope to make many more with you at our Easton and High Street locations!
