Gallo’s coming to Powell
Gallo’s Food Group, already holding a high hand with Gallo’s Tap Room (5019 Olentangy River Road) and Gallo’s Kitchen (2820 Nottingham Road) is gearing up to add another property to the collection.
The local operators plan to open a Powell location before the end of the year. The third Gallo’s will be in Liberty Square (240 North Liberty Street).
The Olentangy River Road location was recently expanded by taking over an adjacent space. This allowed owners to substantially increase the size of their kitchen and expand the menu. Before adding the Powell Gallo’s, they say that they wanted to make sure that they had a product that they could successfully duplicate. With the Olentangy growth, they were able to create that model. The menu expansion has led to increases in sales. (In fact, the Olentangy and Upper Arlington locations have both seen increased sales, especially from the kitchen including specialty pizzas and sandwiches.)
Work on the new space (formerly a steakhouse) will include the addition of a patio and outdoor bar.
Gallo’s in Powell is looking towards an opening in late fall. (jj)
