Holy smokes! Thieves take off with BBQ’s mobile smoker
This morning, Gahanna’s Holy Smoke BBQ was hit by thieves who drove off with the restaurant’s mobile smoker. The smoker, which is used for private events and food fairs, is worth $25,000. And it seems like the thieves stole it for their own personal use. After watching the security camera footage (which caught the whole thing), one of the thieves took some of the wood that’s used to fuel the smoker. Executive Chef Chuck Stolt told ABC6, “I think someone took it to use … scrapers are not going to take the wood, the average person does not know how to use a cooker like this.”
Holy Smoke BBQ is already taking steps to increase their parking lot security and anyone with information on the theft can call Columbus Police at 614-645-4545. (deb)
