Incoming Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther has plans to visit many of the city’s neighborhoods early in his administration. (Friday will be his first day on the job.) The mayor-elect’s staff will schedule several events over his first few months in office that will allow him to meet with residents.
Among other things, he’s expected to talk to folks about his plans to implement police body cameras. Ginther’s team plans to encourage people to show up by having food trucks and fun family activities on site. The hope is to encourage a strong connection between members of his new administration and the people for whom they work.
