Feels like the first time! Cbus mayoral candidates’ first forum
Four candidates have officially announced their plans to run for Columbus mayor, and yesterday they attended their first forum. Around 100 black residents attended last night’s forum at Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church, where mayoral candidates Terry Boyd (R), Andrew Ginther, James Ragland, and Zach Scott (D) heard questions centered on minority issues: the black community’s mistrust of police officers, more jobs for minorities, improving education, and City Hall’s efforts to help black residents.
And while this was the first time all for candidates sat down to hear and discuss issues, none of them are certified for the May primary; they must submit their petitions with at least 1,000 certified signatures by Wednesday. (deb)
