First community-police relations meeting held
The first of five meetings that focus on improving relations and trust between the community and the police department was held last night. Columbus Police Chief Kim Jacobs hosted the meeting at the First Church of God on (3480) Refugee Rd., with more than two dozen people in attendance. Chief Jacobs said, “I want to hear about community concerns and I want to hear the recommendations they have to build better relationships with them.”
After all five community meetings have been held, Chief Jacobs will draft recommendations based on the feedback heard at the meetings, with the goal of improving training, policies, education, and outreach. (deb)
