It’s alot easier to hunt wabbits now

This Monday is shaping up to be “day everything becomes law.” The latest legal news comes from a new state law, that effective today, allows hunters to use suppressors on guns. There are also some other gun changes under the new law (House Bill 234):

  • Ohioans can buy rifles, shotguns, and ammunition from any state
  • (more) intensive background check for concealed-carry permits
    • training for such a permit dropped from 12 to 8 hrs
    • some training can also be done online
  • concealed-carry permits issued from other states are valid in Ohio
  • definition of “automatic” weapon changed*

Several groups don’t think the new laws are comprehensive enough, but the bill’s supporters say that the changes are steps toward better gun control legislation. (deb)
