Kasich feeds on presidential possibilities in New Hampshire
If nothing else, Governor John Kasich (R) will be well fed. One day after Texas Senator Ted Cruz became the first candidate to officially enter the race for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination, Ohio’s chief executive turns his eyes to the state that holds the first primary contest…New Hampshire. On Tuesday, Kasich’s schedule includes events called Politics & Eggs (in Manchester) and Politics & Pies (in Concord). In between, Kasich will tour a workforce training center in Nashua and conduct one-on-one interviews with local New Hampshire news outlets.
The governor says that the mission of his trip is to spread the good word about economic successes in the Buckeye state, but he is obviously considering a run for the White House. At minimum, he’s trying to give the appearance that he’s considering a run. Next month, Kasich’s travel schedule takes him to another early voting state…South Carolina. No word on what they will feed him there. (jj)
