Mercedes hits train in Hilliard
Davidson Road has now reopened in Hilliard following an accident earlier this morning involving a train and a Mercedes. Reports say that the driver of the car drove his vehicle through the crossing gates as the train was going by and that he struck the engine of the locomotive. The driver suffered only minor injuries in the accident. The train operator suffered some cardiac irregularities and was treated at the scene. (jj)

Davidson Rd, east of Avery Rd. is currently closed as a result of a train crash involving a car. The crash took place around 11:30AM at the Davidson Rd. railway crossing near the high school. Early reports say that an elderly gentleman driving a Mercedes attempted to drive through the crossing gate as the locomotive was going by. The guy ran into the train and his vehicle was quickly tossed to the side. He reportedly suffered minor injuries. The train operator suffered some cardiac irregularities and was treated at the scene.
While police investigate, Davidson Rd. will be closed. (deb)
