When the ball drops on New Year’s Eve, the curtain will close on his time as mayor of the City of Columbus. There has been a lot of speculation as to what he will do next. Now, he’s starting to let the public in on his plans for the future.

Coleman tells the Columbus Dispatch that once his fourth and final term is through, he will join the Ice Miller law firm. Ice Miller is a firm of more than 300 lawyers with offices in Chicago, Cleveland, Columbus, Indianapolis, New York and Washington D.C. According to their website, their clients range from business start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. They also represent a number of government clients. Coleman will serve as Director of Business and Government Strategies.

Due to restrictions in state law, the future former mayor will be prohibited from doing business with the City of Columbus for one year from the time he leaves office.  (jj)
