Third man: Ginther and Scott meet Golden Valentine at debate
Online viewers watching last night’s mayoral debate between Andrew Ginther and Zach Scott were likely thrown for a loop with the unexpected appearance of a third candidate on the stage. Write-in candidate Emmanuel “Golden” Valentine also took part in the forum hosted by ABC6 and the Franklin County Consortium for Good Government.
The Columbus Dispatch reports that Valentine referred to police as “trained military killers” and addressed the hot-button issue of keeping “ bed-bug-infested” mattresses out of the city’s alleys. Valentine wore a construction worker’s hard hat to the debate and pants that had “election” and “Nov. 3” written on them. (Sounds like another one of those slick politicians.)
Ginther and Scott tangled a bit over the recent red light camera bribery scandal and talked of their plans for the city should one of them be elected mayor. (jj)
