Former Delaware County sheriff candidate indicted for child porn

A former Delaware County sheriff’s deputy who once served as interim sheriff has been indicted on child pornography charges.

Mark Wolfe was a county deputy from 1994 to 1997 and served a brief stint as sheriff when Al Meyers resigned from office in 2007. During his brief tenure, Wolfe claimed to have discovered child pornography on Meyers’ office computer but the former sheriff was later cleared of any wrongdoing.

Now it’s Wolfe facing charges. Investigators say that they uncovered 486 videos and 203 images of kiddie porn on a laptop in the former deputy’s home. All were inside of folders on the desktop labeled “Mark.” Investigators also found incriminating Skype messages where Wolfe allegedly disseminated child porn and said that he liked to engage in sexual activity with young children.

Wolfe was a candidate for sheriff in 2000 and 2004.  (jj)
