Hoax kidnapping call to police results in arrest of innocent man

Dublin Police today are investigating a hoax call that came into 911 dispatchers in Thursday. The caller said that he had kidnapped and stabbed a girl, and that he would shoot her if police got in his way. Officers responded to the call and arrested a man at a home on Rushwood Drive. The man claimed that he knew nothing of the call. Police later concluded that he was telling the truth.

Investigators are now attempting to trace the call.  (jj)
