Columbus workers get highest pay bump in the nation

New figures from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics show that the average hourly wage for people working in Columbus’ private sector improved by 6.2% over the last 12 months. That increase is higher than the bump experienced by every other big metro city in the nation.

The average private sector hourly wage in Columbus now stands at $23.30, with most workers looking at a 33.7 hour work week.

The next highest increase was San Francisco where wages went up 6%.

The biggest drops in average wages (in the 51 metro areas measured) were in Oklahoma City and Nashville, Tennessee.  (jj)
