Eye spy with my little eye … a black bear!

Interesting things happen when your day entails searching the interwebs for all things news and going-on related. Things like, coming across an article on the number of black bear sightings in Ohio. So, in order to help keep your picnic basket safe, here’s what’s up with Ohio’s black bears.

According to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, the number of black bear sightings is down from last year: 135 this year compared to 2013’s 158 reported sightings. However, the number of individual bears sighted did go up: 88 in 2014 vs last year’s 74. But those in the (614) shouldn’t be too worried. Most of the sightings took place in NE Ohio – and from the little graph we looked at, none made their way down to Franklin County. (deb)
