Franklin County joins in rescue of 44 dogs

A tip to the Humane Society of Delaware County has led to the rescue of 44 dogs being kept in deplorable conditions.

Armed with a search warrant, officials discovered the starving animals in kennels filled with feces and surrounded by overgrown weeds. Many lived in outdoor kennels without safe shelter, exposed to all the harsh elements of the weather. The animals were described as clearly underweight and suffering skin problems. Humane societies from Licking, Montgomery and Franklin counties all aided in the rescue and will divide the animals to care for them and put them up for adoption. (jj)
