Generous ‘Santa’ pays off 56 local Walmart layaways
The manager of the Westerville Walmart (50 East Schrock Road) says that someone recently tried to put themselves into the holiday spirit by paying off all of the store’s layaway accounts.
The person had recently suffered the death of a loved one and wasn’t feeling very festive about the holidays. To try and push themselves into the fa-la-la-la mood, they walked in and laid out $13,000 to give 56 other families a very Merry Christmas.
The store says that before word got out about what had happened, someone else came in to try and do a similar deed…but there were no layaways left to be paid.
