The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office on Monday announced sad news of the death of a 4-legged colleague.

Udet was a 3-year old German Shepherd that had served with the force for two years. Primarily, she worked with her handler (Deputy Michael Durbin) in the area of narcotics detection. 10TV reports that Udet and her deputy were getting into their cruiser in Grove City this morning when she became distracted and ran out into traffic. She was hit by a dump truck and later died from her injuries. (jj)
