SUV crashes through bedroom in East Columbus
10TV reports that a retired Franklin County Sheriff’s deputy and his wife were settling in just after midnight Thursday night / Friday morning when a Chevy TrailBlazer smashed through the side of their home and into their bedroom. (Neither husband nor wife were in the bedroom at the time.)
The male driver jumped out of the SUV and escaped on foot. The 14-year-old female passenger slid from the passenger seat to the driver’s seat, threw the vehicle into reverse, backed out of the house and took off. The former law enforcement officer hopped into his own car and gave chase, cornering the girl on a dead end street until Columbus Police arrived.
The girl was arrested. Police are still searching for the teenage male who was behind the wheel at the time of the crash. (jj)
