Columbus Police were patrolling the streets of downtown today and looking for jaywalkers. Officers were looking for pedestrian offenders and careless motorists whose action could cause accidents. They say that they simply want to increase citizen safety by making people aware of the laws when it comes to pedestrian traffic.
Today’s efforts were carried out on High Street during lunchtime. The Columbus Dispatch reports that patrols will continue in other areas in the days and weeks to come. (jj)
