Statehouse lobbyist killed in golf course bee attack
A Powell man has died after being attacked by a swarm of bees on a Michigan golf course.
Darryl Dever was a longtime statehouse lobbyist who fronted his own firm and represented clients in front of legislators and big wigs in the Ohio capitol. The 64-year old man was playing a round at Treetops North golf course on Wednesday when his ball went sailing off the course. When he went to recover it from among some trees, he was attacked by bees, suffering more than two dozen stings.
A doctor in his golfing group tried for more than an hour to try and save his life, but the attack was just too much for Dever. (jj)
