Students stage vigil for victims of Paris, Beirut, Syria

One week before students stage their annual jump into Mirror Lake, members of the Ohio State community came together at that sight for a different purpose Tuesday night. The school’s Syrian Student Union joined with the Lebanese Student Organization to hold a candlelight vigil to remember victims of the recent terror attacks in Paris and in Beirut, as well as victims of the ongoing violence in Syria. Members of those and other school organizations and individuals joined in the event.

Afterwards on social media, the Syrian Student Union said that “it was truly beautiful to see people standing up for and supporting each other in these hard times.”
