Threatening passenger causes flight diversion to Port Columbus
A United Express commercial jet carrying 49 passengers made an unscheduled landing at Port Columbus this morning after a female passenger reportedly made threatening remarks onboard. Authorities are on the scene and the aircraft (originally traveling from St. Louis to Washington DC) has been isolated. The passengers exited the jet and were taken to a secure area. The unruly passenger was detained by police. At last report, the FBI had interviewed all of the plane’s passengers. Most all of them had been released.
There were some delays at Port Columbus because of the incident, but all runways have now reopened. (jj)
