Columbus Police were investigating a possible kidnapping. On Monday morning around 9:15AM, two armed men entered Sterling Cleaners on Hamilton Rd. and came up to a man standing in line. They then either handcuffed or zip tied his hands and led him out of the store. It was initially believed to be a kidnapping, and the fact that during the incident, one of the men fired his gun into the ceiling (which caused customers to flee the store), supported the theory.

Police however, have revealed that the two men are bail bondsmen who were attempting to apprehend a wanted suspect from northeast Ohio. (deb)

Kidnapping in Columbus

Columbus Police are asking for your help in identifying either or both…the person who was the victim of an apparent kidnapping Monday morning on the city’s Eastside or the men who did the kidnapping. The events went down at around 9:15am at the Sterling Cleaners on South Hamilton Road. Surveillance video shows a line of customers extending out the doors of the business. Two men in the rear of the line move forward to take action against another man. There was a struggle inside the store and eventually one of the ‘perps’ appears to take a weapon from the victim. The two alleged kidnappers remove the third gentleman from the store and drive off with him. Anyone with information is asked to call Columbus Police at 614 645 4266.  (jj)
