With the recent opening of the new James Cancer Hospital at Ohio State, many have wondered what is to become of the old James. That picture should begin to clear up this week. Trustees will be asked to approve $14.3 million Brain and Spine Institute. On Wednesday, the medical center board will vote on approval of more than $1 million to fund the design phase of the project. The Brain and Spine Institute was first proposed about two years ago. It would house 80 to 90 beds patients in need of neurological care. Specialty units would also be established for those in need of additional specialized care. If approved, the project would begin construction in October and last about six months. (jj)
