The “Buckeye Bandit,” who’s responsible for over 20 robberies throughout central Columbus, has struck again. On Monday (4/27), he robbed the Cooper State Bank on Sawmill Rd. in Dublin. He brandished a firearm, demanded cash, and after getting the money, fled from the bank. Central Ohio Crime Stoppers and the FBI have increased the reward for information on the “Buckeye Bandit” to $10,000. Buckeye Bandit identity still unknown

The identity of the man suspected of up to 20 bank robberies in Columbus, Gahanna, Worthington, Upper Arlington, and OSU is still a mystery. As part of a briefing this morning, the FBI and police are asking for help in indentifying the man known only as the “Buckeye Bandit.” (deb)

Buckeye bandit sketch released by FBI

4400466_GA man seemingly always clothed in OSU garb (nearly the entire population on OSU’s campus as well) has been dubbed as the “Buckeye Bandit” after being accused of 16 central Ohio bank robberies. During most of those robberies the man was clad in scarlet and grey. The FBI has released a sketch of the suspect who has been described as a 25 to 30-year-old black male who is about 5’11” and about 175 pounds, and there’s a $5,000 reward for the alleged robber, NBC4 reported.

Bounty: Find this guy, $5Gs may be yours

The FBI is putting up a $5,000 reward for information leading to the ID, arrest and conviction of a man they dub the, “Buckeye Bandit”. He has allegedly been involved in at least 16 area bank robberies so don’t do anything stupid – he’s considered armed and dangerous.

He has been described a young black man in his later 20s around 6 feet tall and 170 to 185 pounds and an athletic type build, according to NBC4. Per is nickname he usually wears Ohio State spirit wear during the robberies. Anyone with information regarding the robberies is asked to call the Buckeye Bandit Tip Line at 614-849-4896.
