Coroner rules OSU football player Karageorge’s death a suicide
Franklin County coroner Anahi Ortiz’s has ruled OSU football player and wrestler Kosta Karageorge’s death a suicide. And while the final autopsy report isn’t complete until a neuropathologist studying his brain completes assessments, it won’t affect the coroner’s ruling.
Karageorge went missing in late November and was later found in trash bin near his apartment with a gunshot wound to the head. No suicide note was found, but he had sent texts stating that he was going to kill himself. He also sent a text to his mother saying, “I am sorry if I am an embarrassment but these concussions have my head all f—ed up.”
A funeral was held on Wed. Dec. 3, 2014 at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Columbus, with a private burial in Athens County.
