Central Ohio native Jerrie Mock was posthumously honored with induction on Thursday into the Paul E. Garber First Flight Shrine in North Carolina.
Mock made history in 1964 when she piloted her aircraft, the Spirit of Columbus, around the globe…the first woman to ever make the journey solo. She passed away last year at the age of 88.
