Armed man shot by police outside night club

Columbus police said an armed man outside the Lounge 13 bar (1320 Beechwood Rd) yesterday around 2:28 a.m. Police arrived at the scene after a disturbance was reported and where confronted with a man firing his weapon within a crowd near the club. According to police, the man wouldn’t responded to the police’s orders and exchanged gunfire with the police.

The man was shot in the upper body and taken to Grant Medical Center in stable condition. His name hasn’t been released and the investigation is still ongoing. (deb)
