Columbus candlelight vigil set to remember life of transgender teen Leelah Alcorn

A candlelight vigil will be held at Goodale Park Friday night to remember the life of transgender Cincinnati-area teen Leelah Alcorn.  Alcorn, who was born a boy, took her life on Sunday, leaving behind a message online saying that her parents never accepted her in identifying as a female.    A funeral was held for the 17 year-old on Friday, moved to a private location after the family reported receiving threats.  (jj)

Tonight’s vigil in Columbus is set to begin at 7pm.
