Columbus makes list of top mom-friendly cities

With just weeks to go before Mothers Day, the folks at Sperling’s BestPlaces and Teleflora have assembled their list of the Top 10 “mom-friendly” cities in America. Criteria for the list included access to child care / day care, pediatricians and family fun activities. San Jose, California tops the list with Cincinnati having the best showing among Ohio cities (in at number 4). Columbus places 6th making Ohio one of only two states to take multiple spots on the list. Here’s the rundown:

  • San Jose, CA
  • Milwaukee, WI
  • Raleigh, NC
  • Cincinnati, OH
  • Washington, DC; Arlington/Alexandria, VA
  • Columbus, OH
  • Baltimore, MD
  • Boston, MA
  • Honolulu, HI
  • San Francisco-Oakland, CA

If you find it particularly irritating that Cincy beat out Columbus for the higher spot among Ohio cities, find some solace in this fact. Cincinnati places second on the list of cities where people forgot Mothers Day altogether.  (jj)
