Convenience comes to the Arena District
If you want dinner, a movie, a concert, an NHL game, a baseball game or a few drinks…the Arena District has you covered. But what if your needs are much simpler than that? A magazine, a candy bar, a bottle of water?
Nationwide Realty has unveiled plans to put such a convenient place…a convenience store, if you will…right there in the Arena District. Nelson’s Convenience Store will be located next to Jimmy John’s on Nationwide Boulevard and offer all of your expected goods: pop, water, beer, booze, candy, gum, meds and such. Hours will be 8am to 8pm seven days a week. Plans are to open this summer.
I would have to imagine that those hours would change…especially when hockey season hits. When 15-20,000 people are walking out of Nationwide Arena at 9:30 on a Friday night, I would want to have my doors open to sell them stuff. Better that they buy from me as opposed to the guy on the street trying to move the last sticks of cotton candy for $1. (jj)
