Crowdfunding Spotlight: Dough Mama

Screen Shot 2015-07-28 at 11.05.50 AMEach week, we give a bit of space and focus to a local would-be entrepreneur. Generally, this is someone who has ideas and goals for a product or business, but maybe not the funds to get their promising enterprise off the ground. These folks turn to crowdfunding and we help to get the word out.

This week, we give some attention to Perrie Wilkof, owner of Dough Mama’s Kitchen. Perrie started Dough Mama’s Kitchen two years ago and has been selling her delicious pies, cookies and quiches through some of Columbus’ favorite eateries including Skillet, Flatiron Bar & Diner, Yellow Brick Pizza, Kraft House No. 5,  and Mission Coffee. You may have also found some of her creations at the Clintonville Community Market and Columbus Flea.

Now, Perrie wants to open up her own place…a bakery / cafe in Clintonville. It would be a spot where customers could stop in for breakfast, brunch or lunch and maybe take home something sweet for later. Right now, she’s in the process of converting a former hair salon into the new Dough Mama’s. And she’s turning to Indiegogo to ask for support in keeping the ball rolling.  (jj)
