East Columbus crash leaves two injured in critical condition

Around 2:58 a.m. this morning, emergency crews were called to US 33 (westbound, near James Rd). after reports of a crash. Two people were injured in the crash and police said they were taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition.

US 33 westbound was closed after a pole came down in the crash, but the road has since reopened. The ramps from US 33 westbound to James Rd. and Winchester Pike to 1-70 eastbound are still closed. It is uncertain how long the closures will be in place, as police continue to investigate the scene.
