Guess who’s staying at OSU?
Answer: Geoffrey Chatas! Did you think I was making another Buckeye sports announcement? Nope. This time it’s an update of a more administrative nature. Chatas was/is the university’s CFO and announced earlier this year that he was leaving for a job in the private sector with QIC Global Infrastructure (the company that owns/runs the parking operator at OSU). But it seems like Chatas has had a change of heart.
A new release from OSU confirms that Chatas is now not leaving, and instead will stay on at the university as its senior vice president and chief financial officer. Chatas says he was inspired by President Drake’s five-year plan for the school and the commitment to improve the financial lives of the students:
“Ohio State students deserve the best education, but we can’t provide that education on the back of student debt. I want to find creative solutions to the challenges facing higher education”
A new contract is underway for Chatas, and it’ll probably look ALOT like his previous one. Except this time, there won’t be increased compensation. But with a base salary of $600K+, I think he’ll be fine. (deb)
