Blast from the past: arctic chill returns to Columbus

We were greeted this morning by single digit negative temperatures this morning (I know I got a little wide-eyed at the -6 my IPhone reported). And with the current temperatures dropping below zero, The Ohio Emergency Management Agency is advising that you check your water pipes (make sure they don’t freeze) and check-in with neighbors and families. The EMA also advises that you make sure the folks around you have good heating, food, and water. It’s also a good idea to dress in layers and leave as little skin exposed as possible to avoid frostbite, and to have some emergency supplies in your car.

Bundle up Columbus! (deb)

It’s like totally brrr outside today

It’s the middle of the week, and while most of us are celebrating the week being halfway over (while others lament that there’s still some “week” left), we got a shock this morning from the double digit temperatures just above 10 degrees. And if the base temperatures weren’t cold enough, wind chill advisories have been issued for most of central Ohio. The high winds will push the already frigid 11 degrees to between -10 and -15 degrees.

All I can say is that the weekend is close, and soon enough I’ll be able to huddle up in a blanket and drink hot cocoa; commenting on the pretty snow from inside my apartment.
