Kasich falls to 3rd place in Ohio
On the heels of recent polling showing Governor John Kasich losing ground in New Hampshire, a new Quinnipiac poll shows him now trailing in Ohio.
Donald Trump has been the national frontrunner for months in the race for the Republican presidential nomination. And now…he leads in Ohio. Quinnipiac’s last poll in the Buckeye State was in August and at that time, Kasich led the pack with 27% support. Trump followed at 21%. Things appear to be a lot different now.
- Donald Trump 23%
- Ben Carson 18%
- John Kasich 13%
- Ted Cruz 11%
- Carly Fiorina 10%
In the results, Kasich falls to third place…bunched up with Ted Cruz and Carly Fiorina.
Gov. John Kasich’s big card was his enormous popularity in Ohio, generally considered the most important swing state in the November election, but with Trump zooming well past him in the Buckeye State and Kasich’s numbers in Florida and Pennsylvania in low single digits, the Ohio governor’s campaign is going in the wrong direction.
