LGBT equality in the workplace: a look at (614) companies

Screen Shot 2015-11-19 at 11.03.01 AMThe Human Right Campaign is out with their 2016 Corporate Equality Index, a look at some of the best places to work in terms of LGBT equality. More than 400 companies nationwide were rated on criteria such as:

  • prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity
  • offering partner health insurance
  • engagement with the LGBT community

Among Central Ohio companies, perfect scores of 100 were earned by Abercrombie & Fitch, Cardinal Health, Huntington Bancshares and Nationwide. Here’s a look at some of our other local businesses and their scores:

  • AEP (95)
  • Big Lots (20)
  • Bob Evans (90) – a dramatic improvement from last year
  • DSW (80)
  • L Brands (95)
  • Wendy’s (65)
  • Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease law firm (75)
