New Shorth North office tower may house Cameron Mitchell restaurant

renderingeditDevelopers are planning to construct an 11-story office building in the Short North at 711 North High Street.

The plan for the 140,000 square-foot development includes plenty of office space with possibly Cameron Mitchell occupying the ground floor. (This could include CM offices and a new restaurant…plus a rooftop patio bar accessible via an express elevator.)

The project is the idea of The Woods Companies and Schiff Capital Group.

The North High Street property is currently a 45-space public parking lot with the developers owning one piece and the city owning another. Project backers would buy out the city’s portion of the land.

The new structure would include approximately 80 parking spaces for tenants. To make up for the otherwise lost public parking on the site, a new lot would be installed a short distance away near East Lincoln and North Pearl. There would be 125 spaces available for the public at that location.

Developer Mark Wood says that the new structure would have “respect for the character of the neighborhood,” while adding to the diversity of land usage in the area.  (jj)
