Robbery suspect hides in bathroom
Around midnight, a man attempted to rob the coin dispenser at the Speedway on Cleveland Ave. and E Dublin Granville Rd. The suspect, who was caught and is in police custody, walked into the convenience store and saw that the coin dispenser was unlocked. So he started pocketing the money (about $50), but was noticed by a clerk who then blocked the exit. So the suspect ran into the bathroom and attempted to hide out in there.
When police arrived, they arrested him and found, along with the coinage, stolen credit cards and drug paraphernalia. He is being charged with theft and multiple drug charges. (deb)
