Speedway robber leaves empty-handed

Police are searching for a suspect in an attempted robbery of the Speedway gas station on (955) S Galloway Rd. Around 12:11 a.m. on Tuesday, the suspect came into the Speedway and approached the counter. He asked the clerk for a pack of cigarettes and then demanded the store’s cash.  The clerk told him she couldn’t open the register without a purchase and the suspect became flustered and left the store.
