Tigertree couple opens Cubshrub in the Short North

Josh and Nikki Quinn were only making a pit stop in Columbus as they moved from Los Angeles to the East Coast. The couple liked what they saw and decided to stay, opening their Tigertree clothing, accessory and gift shop in the Short North in March of 2007. Now the husband and wife that were just passing through have expanded their family and are growing the business.

The Quinns have now opened Cubshrub. Cubshrub targets parents…offering clothing, toys and gifts for children up to 8 years of age. The new store is just down the road (749 North High Street) from the original (787 North High Street).

They say that the idea for Cubshrub came to them as they were expecting a baby last year. As they were trying to find items for their family’s new addition, the Quinns say that they could find nothing for them in the Short North. So they decided to fill the gap that they had discovered. They began by offering children’s items in a small section of Tigertree and as those things began to sell more and more, they realized that opening up a second shop, one dedicated to such things, was the way to go.  And as of this week…that’s just what they’ve done.  (jj)
